Dialogue

Pro­mot­ing dia­logue and com­mu­ni­ca­tion is an impor­tant part of our approach to fos­ter sus­tain­able devel­op­ment. We see com­mu­ni­ca­tion as a social process based on dia­logue using a range of tools and meth­ods. Dia­logue is an impor­tant com­mu­ni­ca­tion tool. Perene Con­sult­ing designs and imple­ments tai­lor-made train­ings, facil­i­tates work­shops, con­fer­ences, team­build­ing events and mul­ti-stake­hold­er meet­ings aimed at dis­sem­i­nat­ing knowl­edge and con­struc­tive­ly mov­ing towards strate­gic goals. 

Strategic communication

Perene uses a par­tic­i­pa­to­ry com­mu­ni­ca­tion strat­e­gy for infor­ma­tion dis­sem­i­na­tion, edu­ca­tion and aware­ness-rais­ing, aimed at incen­tivis­ing peo­ple to change long-estab­lished prac­tis­es or behav­iour. We there­fore seek to under­stand the beliefs and val­ues, the social and cul­tur­al norms of tar­get audi­ence before design­ing the appro­pri­ate com­mu­ni­ca­tion chan­nel which can reach from local com­mu­ni­ty radio to the organ­i­sa­tion of inter­ac­tive work­shops. We facil­i­tate access to infor­ma­tion by com­mu­ni­ties e.g. about mar­kets, reg­u­la­tions and the feed­back of our own con­sult­ing work. Our aim is sim­ple: to deliv­er in an ade­quate for­mat and under­stand­able.

 

Stakeholder dialogue

Perene adapts and uses well-estab­lished tools and meth­ods to cre­ate mean­ing­ful, strate­gic com­mu­ni­ca­tion aimed at inform­ing par­tic­u­lar audi­ences, lis­ten­ing to their feed­back, and respond­ing appro­pri­ate­ly. When assist­ing the dis­cus­sion of a devel­op­ment project or broad­er eco­nom­ic reforms- from edu­ca­tion, rural devel­op­ment to finan­cial sec­tor reforms-we aim at build­ing con­sen­sus through rais­ing pub­lic under­stand­ing and gen­er­at­ing well-informed dia­logue among stake­hold­ers. We con­duct a sit­u­a­tion analy­sis and based on pur­pose and expect­ed out­come, we com­bine meth­ods such as focus groups, expert pan­els, inter­views, sur­veys, ques­tion­naires, opin­ion polls or media to design the com­mu­ni­ca­tion process.

 

Workshops and Trainings 

Our approach to work­shops and train­ing is expe­ri­en­tial, inter­ac­tive and col­lab­o­ra­tive. We believe that peo­ple hold the key to the solu­tion them­selves, and we there­fore see our role as set­ting the frame for trans­lat­ing ideas and visions into project con­cepts and designs. We facil­i­tate that per­spec­tives and thoughts of both lead­ers and diverse staff are used con­struc­tive­ly in mov­ing towards the strate­gic goals, and that ini­tia­tives are imple­ment­ed in project exe­cu­tion. We use our inter­cul­tur­al com­pe­tence to cre­ate learn­ing envi­ron­ments that involve action, reflec­tion, elab­o­ra­tion of struc­tures and their appli­ca­tion. We con­duct work­shops for organ­i­sa­tions on insti­tu­tion­al reviews and strate­gic plan­ning and orga­nize train­ings for knowl­edge trans­fer at com­mu­ni­ty lev­el.
